Who we are

DatingSitesFinder ("we," "us," "our") is an independent editorial site that reviews and compares casual dating platforms. We are a publisher, nothing more: we don't operate any of the dating platforms we write about, and we don't run their sign-up, billing or messaging systems. The moment you click through to a platform, you are dealing with that platform under its own privacy policy — not ours.

This page explains what we collect on our own site, why, and what choices you have. By using the site, you agree to the practices described below.

What we collect

We keep it to a minimum. When you visit our site, we collect:

1. Usage and analytics data — pages you view, links and buttons you click, the page that referred you, and how long you stay on each page.
2. Device and browser information — approximate location (city or region level, derived from your IP address), browser type and version, operating system, screen size and language settings.
3. Cookies and similar technologies — small files stored by your browser that help our pages work and let us measure traffic. See "Cookies and tracking" below.

What we do not collect: sensitive personal data. There is no account on our site. We never ask for your dating preferences, relationship status, photos, government IDs, financial details or health information. If you provide any of that, you provide it directly to a dating platform on its own website, under its own policy.

How we use it

We use the data above to:

1. Run, maintain and improve the site and its content
2. See which reviews and comparisons people actually use, so we know what to update first
3. Measure how our pages and outbound links perform, including how many visitors click through to a platform
4. Detect and deal with technical issues, abuse, fraud and security incidents

Legal bases for processing (EEA / UK visitors)

• Consent — for all non-essential cookies and similar technologies, including analytics and advertising storage and the capture of advertising click identifiers. You give this through our cookie banner, and you can withdraw it at any time (see "Your consent choices" and "Your rights"). Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already took place.
• Legitimate interests — for operating, securing and improving the site, and for preventing fraud and abuse, in a way that does not override your rights.
• Legal obligation — where we must process data to comply with the law.

Cookies and tracking

We and our service providers use cookies for two purposes:

Analytics — to understand traffic in aggregate: which pages get visited, how the site performs. This is how we decide what to improve.

Affiliate click tracking — when you click a "Visit Site" link, a tracking parameter or cookie may be used to attribute a resulting sign-up to DatingSitesFinder. This is how we may earn a commission. It costs you nothing extra and does not change the price you pay the platform.

You can control or disable cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work.

Your consent choices on this site

Your choice persists across visits and applies on every page. You can change it at any time by clearing the site's data in your browser — the banner will then appear again.

Opt-out preference signals (Global Privacy Control)

Where required by applicable law, we treat a recognized opt-out preference signal sent by your browser or a browser extension — such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) — as a valid request to opt out of advertising and analytics storage for that browser. When such a signal is present, or when you have not consented, advertising and analytics storage remains disabled.

Third parties we work with

We rely on trusted third parties to run the site and measure it:

• Analytics providers, to understand traffic and page performance
• Advertising and affiliate networks, which manage the tracking links between our reviews and the platforms we feature and attribute referrals so we can be credited for sign-ups
• Hosting and infrastructure providers that deliver the website

These third parties process data under their own privacy policies. And once again: before you register or subscribe on any dating platform, read that platform's privacy policy. Their data practices are completely independent of ours.

International data transfers

We operate from the Hong Kong SAR, and some of the providers described above process data in the United States and other countries. This means your information may be transferred to, stored in, or accessed from a country whose data-protection laws differ from those where you live. Where such transfers involve personal data of EEA or UK residents, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognized under the GDPR / UK GDPR — such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum) — or another lawful transfer mechanism. How long we keep data

We keep usage and analytics data only as long as it is needed for the purposes above, or as required by law; where our analytics provider offers a retention setting, we configure it to a limited period rather than keeping raw data indefinitely. Advertising click identifiers, when captured with your consent, are stored for up to 90 days. Aggregated, anonymized statistics — which can't reasonably identify you — may be kept longer so we can track trends over time. When data is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

1. Access the information we hold about you
2. Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
3. Delete your information, subject to certain legal exceptions
4. Withdraw consent to non-essential cookies and tracking at any time
5. Object to or restrict certain processing, and (where applicable) request a copy of your data in a portable format

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have these rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR, and you may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, and the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information.

On "sale" and "sharing." We do not sell your personal information for money. However, our use of analytics and advertising cookies — including passing online identifiers to analytics and advertising partners for measurement and attribution — may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under some U.S. state privacy laws, such as the CPRA. You can opt out of this at any time by selecting Reject in our cookie banner, by clearing the site's cookies, or by enabling a recognized opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control. When you opt out, or before you have given consent, advertising and analytics storage stays disabled and no advertising click identifiers are captured.
